Emeritus
Emeritus is a quartet decomposed of Metro Chapter members. We are all long members of the Barbershop Harmony Society and enjoy the great Barbershop sound as well as the fellowship of the Barbershop singing community. Emeritus is the 2007 Senior Quartet Champions of the Johnny Appleseed District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Email Emeritus
Leo Stefano – Tenor, is a former President of the Metro Chapter. He is retired, but very active in several organizations.
Joe Fricker – Lead, is a practicing Attorney in Pittsburgh. It seems that Joe has ALWAYS been a member of Metro.
Chuck May – Bass, moved here this year from New Jersey. Chuck is a new member of Emeritus, replacing our dear friend and inspiration the late Jarvis Cotton.
Walt Mansfeld – Baritone, is a retired accountant and spends his time these days remodeling homes.

Pittsburgh Tradition
The Pittsburgh metropolitan area continues the art form of barbershop harmony with the PITTSBURGH TRADITION. Its members are recognizable bringing over 125 years of barbershop experience to the stage. They proudly announce the availability of their unique group for
any listening audience. Their goal is to please with quality singing and a cleverly mixed reperatoire. You’ll hear snappy uptunes from the 1920’s, a touch of the big band era, and experience the stunning bass voice of Al Kolesar as he performs a Broadway musical classic!
Tenor Dave McKinney Dave resides in Blairsville-PA with his wife Marylou. He’s sung in several quartets most recently the River City Music Committee. He is tenor section leader for the Steel City Harmonizers and a retired IT manager.
Lead Don Dressler Don lives in North Huntington-PA with his wife Christine. He ‘s sung in many quartets most recently the River City Music Committee. His barbershop path is in the Rocky Mountain and Mid-Atlantic Districts. He directs the Steel City Harmonizers and is a car salesman.
Baritone Mike Sisk Mike is single and resides in O’Hara Township-PA. He is a two time Johnny Appleseed District Quartet Champion with the 1983 Harmony Partners and 1985 New Affair and twice an international quartet competitor. He’s a marketing associate for a Pittsburgh firm.
Bass Al Kolesar Al is single and lives in North Versailles-PA. His barbershop career began in 1965. He’s since been a two time Johnny Appleseed District Quartet Champion with the 1967 Travelers and 1983 Harmony Partners. He is also a 9 time international quartet competitor and 3 time international Seniors Quartet Silver Medalist in the Alumni. He’s retired and a part time courier.

Stay Tuned! has been singing together off and on since the fall of 2009. They started rehearsing and performing on a regular basis in the spring of 2010. Joe Novelly – Joe Novelly sings tenor and has been a chorus and quartet guy for some 30 years. Comes from a fairly large family- 9 brothers and sisters- and got his early appreciation of harmony
listening to his mother and her siblings singing all of the old songs at family gatherings. Married to Holli for 30 years and they reside in Murrysville, PA. Their 2 sons just got married this year to two wonderful girls. Joe works at Philips/Respironics in Customer Service, International division.When not singing you’ll find him at home watching all of the Pittsburgh pro or college games on TV.
Lynn Trapp – Lynn Trapp sings lead and has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1984. Lynn has sung all 4 parts in different registered quartets, but confesses that Lead has always been his favorite part. He is also an arranger, director, quartet and chorus coach, and a Certified Outstanding In Front trainer. Lynn also participates regularly in the Standing Ovation Program — which provides evaluations for chapters on their performances and shows. Lynn works as a computer instructor for New Horizons Computer Training Centers in Pittsburgh. He and his wife Joonna have been married for 36 years.
Mark Pascarella – Mark Pascarella sings the Baritone part and has been involved in th Barbershop Harmony Society for over 35 years. Has a lifelong love of music and has sung in barbershop quartets for over 25 years. Married to his lovely wife Lynn for 34 years and has one son Anthony, a recent graduate of IUP. Mark is a recently retired systems analyst form Xerox Corporation after a career of 31 years. Other interests include volunteering as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, currently as a District Commissioner.
